Our story
The foundation of Southern Pines Men's Rugby was laid over two decades ago in 2001 when a small group of dedicated players began practicing together.
Officially established as a social club in 2002, the team spent its early years building a culture of camaraderie and grassroots growth. By 2012, the club advanced to become a highly competitive Matrix team, cementing its reputation as a formidable force in the region. Today, the club is steered by a dedicated leadership team focused on ensuring the squad continues to grow and compete at the highest levels.
The Pursuit of a National Title Southern Pines has proven that a small-town club can stand toe-to-toe with the best in the country. The team's transition to Matrix play paved the way for deep postseason runs, highlighted by dominant streaks during the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Known for fielding explosive offenses and stifling defenses, the club has consistently made aggressive pushes for a national championship, putting Moore County rugby on the national map.
